https://jobs.plasticsindustry.org Latest The Plastics Industry Career Center Jobs Tue, 21 Sep 2021 11:46:15 Z https://jobs.plasticsindustry.org/jobs/rss/15332757/director-sustainability-north-america https://jobs.plasticsindustry.org/jobs/rss/15332757/director-sustainability-north-america Boca Raton, Florida, JOB TITLE :    Director Sustainability, North America REPORTS TO :  Garden Furniture Business Unit Leader LOCATION:    Boca Raton, FL;  Indianapolis, IN;  Pittsburgh, PA; or Charlotte, NC POSITION SUMMARY :  The Director Sustainability is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and helping implement Keter’s 2025 Sustainability targets for North America.  This role will also be responsible for creating and implementing strategic initiatives around sustainability in our manufacturing facilities and in partnership with our key customers to position Keter as a leader in our industry.   By combining a technical understanding of resin, packaging and business acumen, the Director will serve in a highly visible cross-functional leadership role to both internally and externally represent Keter North America’s key sustainability initiatives.   ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : The Director of Sustainability will have responsibilities for the following: Lead and collaborate with key business leaders, manufacturing & engineering teams to develop and implement a multi-year roadmap to achieve Keter’s 2025-2028 sustainability targets for North America Be accountable for metrics and reporting to achieve these sustainability targets Engage with industry, municipalities, and other external stakeholders for waste reduction, zero gas emissions, recycled resin, and packaging recycling opportunities Propose and implement strategies that will positively impact Keter’s environmental footprint, increase usage of recycled materials, and forge partnerships with key retailers along with local communities to create a circular economy (closed loop production). Seek opportunities to accelerate sustainability across manufacturing locations and offices Evaluate recycling operations to increase usage of recycled material, leveraging best-in-class processes across all locations Ensure sustainability programs are compliant with environmental and governmental regulations; maintain knowledge of changes Required Skills / Abilities: Passion for sustainability and proven track record of success in implementing sustainability initiatives Proven track record of leadership with strong negotiation and influencing skills Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of success Strategic, analytical, process oriented and problem-solving skills Hands-on and active in developing and training staff Willingness to travel 20-40% Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with MS Office Education / Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Environmental Science or Engineering from an accredited college / university; MBA or MA/MS in HR or related field preferred ISSP certification preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in resin and sustainability   About Keter   Keter is the innovative global leader in consumer lifestyle solutions for in and around the home.
