Position Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining operational standards in the plant. They work closely with the Plant Engineer to identify equipment performance issues. They work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer in identifying opportunities for new or upgraded equipment, and developing operating standards for new or upgraded equipment. Coordinates and shares best practice with Engineering team in Essen, BE. Supports the efforts of the Houston Plant Manager and Global Operations Director to drive operational excellence throughout the facility Responsibilities: Process Maintenance on existing equipment • Develop and maintain operating standards on existing equipment. Publish work instructions. Train staff on new or updated work instructions and monitor compliance. • Develop and implement process improvements. Trial and qualify improvements with operational staff • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing equipment and control systems • Develop reporting systems for operational metrics • Work with Innovation group for new product testing and plant introduction • Reduce complexity in all processes using ITW tools (USa, MRD, In-Lining, etc.) Develop Processes for new equipment • Work with Manufacturing Engineer and assist in developing design specifications for new or modified equipment • Assist Manufacturing Engineer in developing qualification testing for new or modified equipment • Develop operational standards on new equipment or processes Capital Projects • Develop and manage process improvement capital projects
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering • 10 years in a Process Engineering role in an industrial manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a blown film operations • Experience managing junior engineers or interns • Capital project management (Projects up to $400K) • Excellent communication skills. Experience working and training a diverse workforce • Familiarity with Allan Bradley control systems • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
